This requires a rogue, herbalism & a Blood Scythe (allows you to recieve Bloodvine), you will also need to be in a raid but preferably not leader (for resetting).

In ZG there are 2 (yes only 2) herb nodes which have only 2 humanoids guarding them. The 1st is the hut directly to the left right after you enter, the second is the hut to the right after the second bridge, infront of Snake boss room. They do not always spawn, if they do not just reset the instance (described later). If a herb IS up in these location, its as simple as a sap and a blind to be able to pick the herb and possibly recieve a Bloodvine in this manner.

To reset ZG: Head towards the door, make sure you are not the leader, promoting someone else if neccesary. Leave party and zone out. Reinvite the person that was in your raid and zone in with yourself as leader. Just be sure you are not the leader when you leave raid to reset.

(I have a few more farming tricks but I am not going to flood the forum with them)

This is for alliance only so Hordies, your SOL (complain to Mongoose)

In light of some completely useless threads on money making, I thought I’d consolidate the majority of my knowledge when it comes to turning coin. This guide will take you from level 1 to level 40 and if you use these strats you WILL have your mount paid for by 40 and you WILL have top notch gear plus all your spells. The profit margin on these are great and in a few cases HUGE, you just have to invest the time it takes to get the items. That being said, let’s get started…..

level 1-15:

Darian Singh in Mage Quarter SW
Sells: blue fireworks schematic
Purchase: 18s
AH price: 1-2g

Soolie Berryfizz in Tinker Town, IF
Sells: Free Action Potion recipe
Purchase: 18s
AH price: 3-4g

level 15-20:

Wenna Silkbeard in Sundown Marsh, Wetlands
Sells: Green Leather Armor and Red Whelp Gloves patterns
Price: 20s
AH price: 1g (each)

Frad Swiftgear in Sundown Marsh, Wetlands
Sells: Minor Recombobulator schematic
Purchase: 15s
AH price 1-2g

level 20-30

Bliztik in Raven Hill, Duskwood
Sells: Shadow Oil Recipe
Purchase: 15s
AH price: 3-5g

Zan Shivsproket in Ravenholt Manor, Hillsbrad Foothills
Sells: Gnomish Cloaking Device schematic
Purchase: 15s
AH price: 8-10g

level 30-40

Rikqiz in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale
Sells: Gem-studded Leather Belt and Shadow Skin Gloves
Purchase: 35s **** (Thottbot says 35s but I remember it being around 1g each)
AH Price: Belt sells for 4-5g and gloves sell for 3-4g

Pearl diving in Vile Reef
Purchase price: None** (time investment only)
AH price: 4g per stack of 9 pearls
This strat takes a little more then just putting them on the AH. Follow my guide found here:
http://www.multiplayerstrategies.com/ms/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=30408&categoryid=20

These are very easy ways to make money but by no means are they the only way to do it. There are a few others I’m not quite ready to give up just yet since all my other strats get wrecked after I post them (only problem being on the official MPS server). If you just look around, you’ll see all kinds of ways to make money with very little effort. Once I get deeper in the 40s and into the 50s I’ll post additional guides for higher level money makers as I find them. I think you’ll find these will get you by even to 60 if you keep with them.

GOOD LUCK!!!

AoE Grinding Guide with Priest and Mage:

Priest: Shield up mage.
Mage: Runs in till he has 3 on him.
Mage: Cast 1x iAE.
Priest: Cast Psychic Scream right after the iAE.

*Now those 3 will go collecting mobs for you too and they will all go after the mage since he build up more aggro with the feared ones.*

Mage: Collects some more mobs till the feared ones come back..

If the spot is right you got about 12-20 mobs on you now.

Now the easiest part just iAE them till they are death (or if they flee cast a frost nova when the first one starts running), while the priest spams flash heals on the mage..

If you got some uncommon armor around your level you should end up with about 1/8 bar of mana left and the priest with around 1/2 bar of mana left..

Once in a while you got some additional aggro just after the fight.. If you have Evocation.. Let the priest fear them.. Mage uses Evocation.. Wait till the feared ones brings some friends and finish them off the normal way..

We noth got to 40 today easily this way (4days 8houres played in which we both leveled up 2 crafting trades to 225 too).

(If it is your first time grinding, it is good to know that you will have to get used to if first and you will proberbly die a few times in start)

AoE Grinding Guide with Frost Mage:

Frost Talents (13 points)

Permafrost – 5/5 points
Increases the duration of your chill effects by 3 seconds.

Winter’s Chill – 3/3 points
Increases the power of your chill effects by slowing the target’s movement by an additional 10%.

Improved Frost Nova – 2/2 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Frost Nova spell by 4 seconds.

Improved Blizzard – 3/3 points
Adds a chill effect to your Blizzard spell. This effect lowers the target’s movement speed to 35% of normal. Lasts 1.50 seconds.

So as soon as you get CoC

Collect 8 or so mobs – FN run back 2 blizz lenghts – blizz blizz – coc – fn – blizz collect loot.

Do it right and you can kill as many mobs as you can collect.

tried IAE AoEing and you cannot seem to kill as many same lvl mobs as you can with frost.

Frost does require a bit more room to move in and planning for route.

respecced at lvl 30 and since never got IAE and havnt missed it either (apart from WSG PvP).

(If it is your first time grinding, it is good to know that you will have to get used to if first and you will proberbly die a few times in start)
——————————————-

AoE Grinding Guide with Fire Mage:

Lowbie fire mage

This is a bit harder with fire mage i would say since you only have Flamestrike as AoE spell.

Shield yourself, go get the mobs you want then:

FN – CoC (if you got it) – run to safe spot as far away as you can cast flamestrike – flamestrike – if you are luckey, flamestrike again – FN – CoC – run – flamestrike.

Credits: Magexsix

Grinding with Combustion + Blastwave:

1. Combustion + Flamestrike
2. FS at your own feet.
3. Blastwave + Cone of Cold (before NOVAing)
4. Frost Nova, walk backwards.
5. FS again over the frozen mobs.
6. (If there is any mob still alive) If you’re a troll, don’t forget to berserk at this point (increases cast speed by 10%). Then use Arcane Explosion.
7. just to make sure, push "tab" to change your target and cast a fire blast. If there is one mob alive, it will go down for sure. By now your CoC should also be recharged so there’s nothing to fear.

Credits: Vulcana (post 86)

Grinding with PoM + Blastwave:

Collect mobs on mount,
dismount
frost nova, run back a bit to make room
flamestrike
Pom + then a 2nd flamestrike
blastwave,
whilst walking backwards – cone of cold
arcane explosion to finish.

Credits: Boskank (post 106)

(If it is your first time grinding, it is good to know that you will have to get used to if first and you will proberbly die a few times in start)
——————————————-

AoE Grinding Guide with IAE Mage:

Shield yourself, get mobs you want, use IAE while you are running.
FN – CoC – run around the mobs as close as you can get without getting hit while useing IAE at all time – FN – CoC – run around them with IAE.

Credits: Magexsix
(If it is your first time grinding, it is good to know that you will have to get used to if first and you will proberbly die a few times in start)

Terms:

AoE – Area of Effect

AE – Arcane Explosion

IAE – Instant Arcane Explosion

CoC – Cone of Cold

FN – Frost Nova

PoM – Presence of Mind

Note about Drain Tanking:
Common knowledge is that Drain Tanking is the most efficient leveling spec. Few realize, however, that it is nearly useless before level 30, due to the weakness of the lower versions of the Drain Life spell.

How to level:
Grind and quest at the same time. Either look for multiple quests that involve killing the same mobs, or look for multiple quests in the same areas. The more quests you can get done before running back to turn in, the faster your leveling will go. Also, remember to set your hearth to new places frequently. Every time you plan to level in a new place for more than an hour, set your hearth there, as the time saved by teleporting back to the nearest down instead of running is incredible.

Leveling Guides:
James’ Alliance Leveling Guide – http://www.wow-pro.com/Knowledge_Base/cat=135.html
Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide – http://files.filefront.com/1_60rar/;4993624;;/fileinfo.html
Proxy/Vince’s Mage Leveling Guide – http://home.comcast.net/~mxnvincent/mage.htm (Thanks Arandor for the link!)

While the last one is meant for mage, it shows some good grinding areas.

Summary:
1-9: Do your lowbie quests. Should take 2-3 hours.

10-29: Stack all your DoTs on a mob, send in the VW, stack all your DoTs on a second mob, and then wand the second mob to death. Repeat until low health, and then bandage/Consume Shadows. Each level should take about an hour, moving towards an hour and a half as you get closer to 30. If they are taking longer, figure out what the problem is (mobs too far apart, mobs have too much life, too much downtime) and move to an area that solves it.

30-39: Drain Tank: Load the mob up on DoTs, send in the Succubus, cast Drain Life while the mob beats on you, rinse and repeat.

40-49: Drain Tank, but instead of Life Tapping, use Dark Pact. A good rule of thumb is, DP only if your pet is over 50% mana, because if they run out it will slow your fighting time down. The easiest way to do this is to turn off all autocast abilities on your Succubus, and remember to DPing during the fight (rather than after) as a good time-saver because your DoTs will help keep up the DPS.

50-59: The Drain Tanking gets even better now. By Demonic Sacrificing your pet, you are able to regen even more life per fight, keeping up with increasing monster damage, while still ‘Tapping up to full mana whenever you want because of the passive regen.

60: You are now specced SM/DS, which is generally accepted to be best grinding spec. Do whatever killing you need to do, grind factions etc., and then respec to your high-level build of choice.

Equipment Choice:
"I found that during early levels it was best to focus on +sta, and at around 35 or so to switch to +shadow or +dmg. If you are specced into affliction and are draintanking, +dmg will be vastly superior to +sta. You kill the mobs much faster for the same mana, and heal yourself that much faster." -Clutchsama

It’s my personal opinion that up until about level 40 you should stack +sta and "of the Eagle" gear. At 30, start looking for Shadoweave gear, and around 40 switch into it. Full Shadoweave can be made by tailors, and will give a bonus of +114 shadow damage, along with some Int and Sta, and can be equipped at level 44.

In general, while using Dark Pact I stack as much +damage gear as possible, and while using Demonic Sacrifice, I stack as much +sta gear as possible, while keeping a minimum of +100 dmg.

Special Thanks:

** NOTE: I tried posting this directly to the WOW Strategies forum but don’t see it appearing after a few hours so retrying as a formal submission. **

I tried to search MPS for reference to this but didn’t yield anything so allow me to share. Apologies if this is a repeat in any form. I’ve benefited since joining MPS about a month ago so now would like to contribute something back.

Location: Feralas (http://www.thotbott.com/index.cgi?m=14742)
Mobs: Woodpaws
Type: Humanoid
Mob Level Range: 40-43
Cash: 3/5
Loot: 3/5 (decent greens drop rate and lots of mageweave)

Ideal Classes: All (but rogues will benefit most due to PP)

Note the density depicted in the link above. To be effective for grinding purposes, a spawn site has to have plentiful mobs and ideally a reasonably good spawn rate. Your only downtime should be occassionally bandaging or eating combined with creating more bandages. ;) Those things and an ability to rapidly mow through the mobs with good xp return rate. This location has that for all classes I believe but as a rogue, it was stellar.

The camp is huge and the respawn is on a relatively short timer. This camp can serve 2-3 people farming it without much issue and repops can keep up. I developed a loop on the Western side of the camp and just kept making laps. 40% of the mobs are casters which makes them very soft targets. Of the remainder, 25% or so are "hunters" with rifles and the final 35% are straight up melee that chage you. These guys do run when low on health to get a friend so be mindful of that. It wasn’t an issue for me but heads up given.

Here is the strategy I employed that took me from 46-47 in good time at a rate of 24k xp/hour, netted me 240+ mageweave, 60+ silk, roughly 40+ junkboxes that skilled me up from 200 lockpicking (gave others to guildies to help them skill up) and if I recall, about 20 greens and 3 blue items. All in all, in gold I picked & looted + vendor trash + AH items, it was on average 20g+ an hour.

Strategy:
Get familiar with the camp and identify escape trajectories in case you need them. Lots of good run off space so it shouldn’t be a problem. If you are a rogue, stealth up and either a) perform the loop and PP them all ahead of time or PP as you go. I chose to PP first them straight up melee through them for efficiency sake. Then just kill, loot, rinse, repeat.

There you have it. Not terribly complex but a pretty good spot overall. You could probably do the camp as early as 44-45 given the mobs vary in range from 40-43. I’ve found that optimum pace and dmg dished vs. damage taken seems to hit a sweet spot at around the -3 mark. This was true when I was in STV and doing the VC gnomes as well and it proved the same here. When you outgrow these, you can move West past the mountains and hit up the large Ogre camp as well. Lots of casters there as well.

Making 1000 Gold In One Week (WoW cd key)

Getting your epic mount can seem a very hard task when you figure you have to spend 800 gold just for one item, unless you’re a warlock or paladin of course , but it’s really not.

It’s actually much easier than you think, and something that you may actually never have thought of.

I don’t remember where I heard this, but it WORKS VERY WELL.

What you want to do is first head to felwood which is east of Darkshore.

Here you will find Withered Protectors: http://www.thottbot.com/?n=6474
and Warpwood Shredders: http://www.thottbot.com/?n=6486

The protectors have, according to thottbot, a 3% chance of dropping major healing potions, but I found it to be more in the range of 10%.
On my server (Skullcrusher) one major healing potion sells on the AH for 1g.

In addition to dropping potions, they also drop high-level herbs that can sell on the AH for ~ 10g for a stack of 20.

Another way to make good money……ENGINEERING.

This is actually pretty simple:
High lvl explosives.

People actually buy things such as:
Small Bronze Bomb http://www.thotbott.com/?i=5418 for a good amount of money, way more than the mats cost on the AH.
Also: Heavy Dynamite http://www.thotbott.com/?i=5421

The mats for these are relatively inexpensive, and the bombs and dynamite sell fast! (On my server anyways). People buy the dynamite for extra dps, and the bombs for stunning people.

All you do is buy a stack of 20 wool cloth, which seems to have skyrocketed to about 1g the past couple of months and a stack of 20 stones. Make that blasting powder and enjoy!

You can usually make about a 5-6g profit on the dynamite/bombs after being sold on the AH.

I made ~ 1000g in a week

I’ve been reading all the threads here on (in the wow forums that is) for the last 6 months. Not many leveling guides or help for warriors and in fact a few threads asking for them. Well I tend to be a masochist in picking classes that I love but don’t have any ups (faster traveling, free mounts, healing, etc) thats why I tend to play a warrior or a priest.

Now for those rolling a warrior from scratch, hopefully this guild will help. I will give you the Horde point of view ( I hate alliance though I have played alliance chars up to 20 a few time but the basis is usually the same). Now I wrote this with the PVP player in mind so for PVE servers it will be much easier for you to level. In this guide you will also see a talent build to take what points to put in at what levels and when to respec for maximum efficiency.

When picking your race, it does not matter. It truly doesn’t, in the end (PVP or PVE content) it comes down to skills. I will tell you I tend to pick an Orc, but any class has its ups and downs. Just pick what race you like.

Levels 1-6: Do all your quests in your starting zone. Its useful for rep and xp. When your done you should be level 5 so grind 6 away so you are more than prepared for the next zone.

Before you start your second zone go to the third, they tend to put quests in this zone for the second zone, so pick them all up and head to your second zone.

Level 7-11: Pick up all the quests and do them all. Not much thinking involved.

Levels 12-14: Third zone same thing here.

15-25: For Horde you will be doing Silverpine, Crossroads then finish up in Stonetalon do quests. Stay away from grinding. Levels 19-23 do a couple of Wailing Caverns runs for some xp, quests and loot and if you want SFK and BFD.

Big keys: Always do chain quests. They always end (well, the majority of the time) with a great reward. Also if you are a solo type, stay away from orange quests or quests that you can’t do fairly easily. Wait until they are yellow or green. Always dump a grey quest. Also don’t spend your gold, save for your mount. And go into cooking and first aid and fishing get those and keep those as high as you can because its basically free healling and minimizes your down time.

Levels 26-37: Thousand Needles and Shimmering Flats. Stay away from the quests that tell you to go to another zone. Finish as many quests you want. Also run Gnomeragan and SM up to Cath.

38-44: Everyones favorite…..STV, hahaha. Pick up quests in Booty Bay then head to Grom’Gol, don’t forget to pick up the FP at the top of the build to the far right. Pick up all the quests in Grom’gol and try to do them all. Do SM runs for some no brainer xp and good loot. YOU WILL GET GANKED (on a pvp server) SO LIVE WITH IT.

45-50: Tanaris and Felwood are your friends. Do all the quests there and run ZF a few times for loot and xp.

50-54: Finish up your Tanaris and Felwood quests and if you havent and do Un’Goro. Pick up all the quests there and do them. There are a lot of alliance/horde, however they tend to leave you alone because they are either doing quests themselves or farming mats. I do suggest to take a buddy though. Start running Sunken Temple. Great loot and xp and if you are a skinner plenty dragons to skin.

55-57: I put off WPL till you are a higher level because on PVP servers this is gank central for high levels. Do quests there and in Wintersprings and don’t forget to equip your argent dawn trinket when in the plaguelands. Don’t turn in the scourge stones till after you get honored with argent dawn. Try to run BRD to get attuned to molten core and make sure you pick up the quest from the dead dwarve which you can only pick up when you are dead yourself to get the shadow forge key. BRD is your first taste of end game instancing. Very good loot and xp as well (if you are in a good group).

58-60: EPL and Silithus questing. If you want grind away but make sure you are rested if not just quest away.

There you have it. The key to level is knowing the quests and doing them. Thottbot or allakhazam is your friend. Plus questing doesn’t make you go insane like mindless grinding does.

Now for the talent choices…..

Levels 10-14: Cruelty (Crit is always good)
Levels 15-19: Unbridled Wrath (Gets you a lot of rage fast)
Levels 20-24: Improved Battle Shout (Ups your DPS)
Levels 25-29: Duel Wield Specialization (Ups your DPS again
Levels 30-32: Improved Rend (More damage)
Levels 33-34: Improved Heroic Stike (This will be your version of mortal strike or bloodthirst for the mean time use this and sunder armor always on mobs)
Levels 35-36: Improved Charge (Gets you more rage now)
Level 37: Improved Heroic Strike
Levels 38-39: Deflection (Not taking damage is always good)
Levels 40-42: Deep Wounds (More damge=execellent)
Levels 43-44: Improved Overpower (Critting on a rogue especially a night elf is fun)

When you hit level 45 you are going to respec.

Now what to respec at 45 to…..

Your will put 31 points into Fury:
5 in Cruelty
5 in Unbridled Wrath
5 in Improved Battle Shout
5 in Duel Wield Specialization
5 in Enrage
4 in Flurry
1 in Deathwish
and 1 in Bloodthirst

That leaves 5pts left what to put them in?

Put 5 in Anticipation from the defense tree….

wtf? why?

1pt of defense, and correct me if I am wrong or leaving out something gives you 0.4% chance to block, parry and dodge. With 5pts in anticipation it gives you 10 defense which in turn gives you 4% extra chance to block, parry and dodge.

Now I will suggest what else to put in up until level 59 so when you hit 60 you can put that last point in or respec.

Levels 46-47: Improved Beserker Rage
Levels 48-49: Improved Bloodrage
Levels 50-54: Deflection
Levels 55-59: Toughness
Level 60 if you wish: Piercing Howl, its great in BG

Based on what’s here, alot of the speculations we wouldbe jewelcrafters made appears to be correct. I can almost TASTE the gold.

Making some educated assumptions about jewelcrafting, we come to the conclusion that "prospecting" will be a passive function of jewelcrafting along the lines of smelting, find ore or find herbs.

Combine prospecting with all the aparently new types of gems and ore added (garnet, peridot, spesserite, dreanite, adamantite and eternium) and raw ore will be in CRAZY high demand.

Now, take a leap of faith with me on this one because we are applying real world facts to WoW….

Gems like peridot and garnet are semi-precious stones. That would leave one to conclude that they will be obtained from ore that would fall in the same category ala iron, mithril and thorium. Possibly rares like gold, silver and true silver as well. Since there will be exactly ZERO garnet, peridot and the other gems in the market when TBC is launched, these gems will be very valuable.

All this means that raw ore will be expensive. Even if you have no desire to be a jewelcrafter, if you have a miner, I would start (if you havent since the last time I told you it was a good idea) stocking away all manner of ore for the expansion.
